The Sons of Thor

The People of Scandinavia through their recognition of the necessity for having a higher deity to rule, bless them and punish them for their disobedience to his bidding; created what became known as Thor.
Now Thor was produced as having physical strength, the ability to physically heal, holiness, and to have children; and they associated him with thunder, lightening, oak trees, and protection.
The Scandinavians and all fellow Germanic people groups held to this idolatrous figure until the Christianization of that region when the two religions collided and those opposed to Christianity wore the symbolic hammer in defiance and rebellion against this new religious establishment.
An example of how much our lives today are affected by this idolatrous religion without us knowing it let’s take a look at the day of the week Thursday.  The name Thursday comes from a word which means “Thor’s Day”.  The Old English (a Germanic People Group) called Thursday “Thunresdaeg” or “Thunor’s Day”.  These renditions are all derived from the same words and all are meant to deify some mythical person.
The religious necessity in the various Germanic cultures that were influenced by the worship of Thor or some derived name of him produced a variance in reference to this god of power.  There are fourteen different names recorded for the same god and all are within the Germanic people group.
The myths behind this god show an extreme appearance to which twisted thoughts which resemble vaguely the teachings of Christianity in a warped manner.

I am now going leave the definition of who Thor was and move into another arena.

Are You A Son of Thor?

As men, we have all have this drive, this passion for power.  It is installed into us from birth and is a result of the sin of our first ancestors  Adam and Eve.  This drive hasn’t changed much over the years and has caused men and women alike all sorts of grief.  As mankind fell into deeper and deeper sin, each generation that appeared became more wicked than its predecessor; thus bringing about all manner of warped religions.
We have indeed all gone astray, and have turned every man to his own way.
The people who created and worshipped Thor, created him in such a way that he was the embodiment of who they were.  The very things that drove them, became the things that drove the passions of this created god.  As the power of the Germanic people strengthened, they had to strengthen the image of their created god so he would always be more powerful than they were.
The future generations of Thor worshippers too became enthralled with this mythical god and actually strove  for the life of the myths that surrounded him.  The worship became so embedded in the mindset of these people that they too became fiercely strong as they sought to further empower themselves.
This really goes without saying, but the Germanic descendants became some of the fiercest people alive and this was due to them worshipping the god Thor and becoming like him.
Many of us today have unwittingly become sons of Thor, due to our perceived need for power.  We go for muscle cars, race cars, try to climb the highest mountains, raft the roughest rapids and the list just goes on and on.  The bottom line is, if we are being controlled by power within ourselves; we have become a son of Thor.
I can not just leave this here, lest it be perceived that Thor was just a mythical god.  It doesn’t really matter which god it is, any god other than the God of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob is the personification of the devil.  So plainly put, if you are a son of Thor you have bought into the theology of the devil.
